LaCie unveils Starck and Petit
Computer hardware maker LaCie has released a Starck Desktop Hard Drive. The company is a maker of external hard drives, RAID arrays, optical drives, and computer monitors.
It is a LaCie Starck Mobile Hard Drive in collaboration with world-famous designer Philippe Starck in India. These HDDs had hit the stores in the USA in last October itself. LaCie's Starck and Petit portable hard disk drives have now come to India with 320GB and 500GB capacities, two years limited warranty and a price tag starting from Rs. 5,900.
The quality, which differentiates these HDDs from others, is the resistant aluminum casing that not only stops it from heating, but also enables extra protection from damage. Its USB Boost is 33 percent faster than a normal data transfer, it has automatic backup with LaCie Backup Assistant, LaCie Setup Assistant and it supports all major Windows operating system including Windows 7 and that is apart from supporting Mac.
Starck and Petit HDD come with data transfer rate up to 60MB/s. As the product features itself in Indian market it has to face the competition laid by already established titans of the storage industries such as Transcend, Seagate et al.
