Kristy’s Rape Case; Who is to Blame?

Kristy’s Rape Case; Who is to Blame?Kirsty Merriman, 17, is suffering from nightmares and trauma after being sexually abused by her step father.

She was devastated when jury set Stephen Lee Davies, 43, free from the rape charges on the ground that he suffers from sexomania and the accused was asleep and unaware of what he is doing, at the time of crime being committed.

“I've been to hell and back and I'm still having nightmares and suffering from depression. I don't understand how a court cannot say I was raped when someone had sex with me against my will", said Kristy. According to Kristy, Davies raped her in his bedroom while she was asleep.

On the defense side, Davies put forward the argument that he suffers from sexomania and is totally unaware of what happened. His ex-wife, a former partner and a renowned doctor confirmed to the court about his illness. According to evidences and witnesses, Davies could walk, talk and have sexual intercourse while he is asleep.

Court’s decision favored Davies but has shattered Kristy’s hope for justice. Davies has been set free from the court of law, but Kristy’s agony and despair continues.
