KEC Int’l Pockets 3 Orders Worth Rs 365 Crore
KEC International, a leader in the power transmission and distribution EPC business, announced that it has bagged orders worth Rs 365-crore from various government bodies for electrification of villages in West Bengal and Bihar.
The firm received the first order worth Rs 2.55 billion from West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company for electrification of 3,340 villages that is scheduled to be completed by August 2010.
The second order valued at Rs 670 million was from Power Grid Corp Ltd in Bihar. The project is scheduled to be completed by July 2010.
In a statement, the company said that rural electrification orders were awarded under the Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana (RGGVY).
Moreover, the company’s third order worth Rs 430 million was awarded by Transmission Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (APTRANSCO) for a turnkey transmission project.
The order is likely to be finished by October 2009.

At 2:25 p.m., the shares of KEC International were trading at Rs 144.80, up 2.4% on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). The share price has seen a 52-week high of Rs 813.90 and a low of Rs 108.65 on BSE.
