JetBlue and American Airlines form JV

american-airlines-JetBlue-logoTwo major airline sector players- American Airlines and JetBlue Airways, on Wednesday declared that they are entering into a partnership. As per this, the two will combine together and offer the flight connections to New York and Boston.

The good thing is that, now, JetBlue can connect its customers to 12 destinations including international ones from JFK and Boston. They can also book their flights to 18 domestic destinations as well.

The other service is that the passengers can now book both legs of their flights at the same time.

All in all, American along with its sister concern, American Eagle, will be adding 13 additional routes along with 31 new flights because of this partnership, by the end of 2010. American is also planning to add 23 more flights from seven new destinations from JFK and LaGuardia airports.

American is a unit of AMR corp.

Talking to the press, the CEO of American, Gerard Arpey said that he has high expectations from the new flights.

He also said that the even though the major runaways have been closed till June 30, for repairs, American can provide its customers whatever it has promised.
