Jeep sells more than 10,000 Cherokees in first month
Jeep has said that it has been able to sell a total of more than 10,000 Cherokees during the first month of its sale.
The increased sales of the new vehicle helped the company record its best ever sales figure for the month of November. Chrysler had to delay the Cherokee, which was made in Toledo, for several weeks as the engineers worked with the Jeep's transmission programming. Several customers and dealers had expressed frustration over the delay, but analysts pointed out that the company did the right thing by not releasing the model until it was sure that the vehicle is effort free.
Reid Bigland, head of U. S. sales for Chrysler Group LLC said in a statement that, "Our all-new Jeep Cherokee is off to a terrific start with more than 10,169 units sold in its first full month on sale. Our launch emphasis on Jeep Cherokee quality is now being rewarded with brisk sales and helping Chrysler Group achieve our 44th-consecutive month of year-over-year sales growth."
The figures showed that Cherokee was Jeep's third-best selling model, behind the Grand Cherokee and the Toledo-built Wrangler.
