Jaipur blast accused brought to Ahmedabad for questioning
Ahmedabad, Oct 10 : The two Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) members accused in the Jaipur blasts have been brought to Ahmedabad for interrogation in connection with the July 26 serial bomb blasts that rocked the city.
On Friday, Joint Commissioner of Police, Ashish Bhatia, heading the probe team, said "We have brought two SIMI members from Jaipur for interrogation in the serial blasts case. The two accused were present at the terror training camp in Halol near Vadodara."
On Thursday, Atiq-ur Rehman and Mehandi Hassan, arrested by the Rajasthan police from Jaipur in August, were produced in a court here by the city Crime Branch after obtaining a transfer warrant from Jaipur.
He said the Crime Branch would be seeking more information from them on how many more people were involved in the Ahmedabad blasts and whether any of the city blasts accused were involved in Jaipur blasts.
Till now, 18 people, including mastermind Mufti Abu Basher, have been arrested in case of serial blasts.
This year, the country has been rocked by a spate of serial bomb blasts in Jaipur, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, New Delhi and Tripura. (ANI)
