Jackie Collins’ final message to her fans released
Jackie Collins has one last message for the readers across the world. The best-selling author died around less than three weeks ago from breast cancer, and now her team has shared the last letter she wrote for her fans.
In a post on Collins' personal website, she explained, "As you may have recently heard, I revealed that I have been LIVING life to the fullest with Stage 4 Breast Cancer for the past six and a half years. With October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, my message is this". She wrote that timely detection of breast cancer can save a lot of lives. For this, getting regular mammograms is must.
She continued that in case you have gone through screening, but you still feel that there is something wrong in your body then you must get a second opinion.
When Collins died, at that time her fans came to know that the 77-year-old was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer over six years ago. She never opened up about her illness and chose to keep it almost entirely to herself except for her three daughters.
The author while arguing that she didn't want to become a burden to her family, assured that readers that a cancer diagnosis is not at all the end of the world.
In the final letter, the author mentioned that cancer is not a death sentence, and that a person diagnosed with it can still lead an extraordinary life. She also said that an individual should be kind and grateful, and should never underestimate the power of his/her mind. She wrote that life should be lived as if there is no tomorrow because future is not promised to anybody.
"Cancer does not have to be a death sentence! You, or someone you love, can live an extraordinary life regardless. Be kind and be grateful. Never underestimate the power of your mind. Embrace what you love, and LIVE life to the fullest, as tomorrow is not promised to any of us. Whatever your pain or struggle in life, don't allow it to turn you into a victim. let your battle turn you into someone else's hero!"
