ISAF soldier killed in Afghanistan
Kabul - A soldier with the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan has been killed by a home-made bomb, it was announced Friday.
The soldier, who has not been named, was killed on Thursday by an improvised-explosive device, the NATO-led ISAF said.
The attack took place in southern Afghanistan, the statement said.
"We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of our fallen soldier," said Brigadier-General Richard Blanchette, ISAF spokesperson.
Also on Thursday a British ISAF soldier was killed in fighting in southern Afghanistan. He was the 154 British death since the operation began to oust the Taliban in 2001.(dpa)
