Irish metrics states ‘IE is plunging’

Internet-Explorer-LogoMicrosoft's Internet Explorer, Internet Explorer (IE) is seeking a surge in the present browser market, the Irish metrics firm StatCounter reports.

It is believed that in India IE already witnessed a dip of around 20% compared to Google's Chrome or Mozilla's Firefox browser; all are at a steady rise.

In addition to this it was also observed that the percentage of PCs running IE dropped from 70% in 2008 to about 51% which doesn't bend alike EU. In case of Europe which saw a market shared dip also witnessed a continuous switch over to other browser option which Microsoft offered in their kitty.

With respect to the declining market share, a spokesperson from Microsoft stated, "PC manufacturers and users around the world can install any browser they want on PCs today."

Meanwhile Google India's products head, Vinay Goel said, "Google has designed Chrome in a way that each tab acts as a standalone browser. So if you have lots of tabs open at once, and one crashes, they do not all go down".

Microsoft has to devise measures to retain its 55% market share across the globe, or else it won't be long when Firefox (31%) will rule out its contender.
