Infosys shifts from Nasdaq to NYSE for better Europe linksEyeing better Europe links, Indian IT services provider Infosys has decided to transfer the listing of its American Depository Shares (ADS) from the NASDAQ Global Select Market to the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).

Infosys CFO Rajiv Bansal said that the company's decision to shift from NASDAQ to NYSE was in response to European investors who had long been requesting for the change. He added that the move would give the company more visibility in the local markets.

Speaking on the topic, Bansal said, "NYSE Euronext will allow them [European investors] to trade faster and more efficiently. NASDAQ has no similar arrangement."

According to an official release from Infosys, the company would seek to list its ADS on NYSE Euronext's Paris and London exchanges.

Infosys' American shares will start trading on the NYSE Euronext markets in the United States under the `INFY' ticker symbol from 12th of December.

Till the shift from NASDAQ to NYSE is completed, Infosys ADS will keep on trading under the `INFY' ticker symbol on the NASDAQ in the US.

In 1999, Infosys became India's first company to be listed on the NASDAQ.
