India, Italy to sign MoU on agro-food sector cooperation

New Delhi, Jan 10 (ANI): The Union Cabinet today gave its approval
for signing of a MoU between India and Italy on cooperation in the
agro-food sector.

The MoU will promote bilateral cooperation between the two parties
for promotion of agro-food products facilitating creation of a ‘Joint
Foundation” and exchange of know-how, technologies between Indian and
Italian agro-food enterprises.

The MoU will remain valid for a period of five years.

The Cabinet also approved the signing of a MoU between both countries in the field of agriculture and phytosanitary issues.

The MoU will be signed during Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh’s forthcoming visit to China in 2008.

The MoU will promote further bilateral cooperation joint activities
and exchanges in the areas of agriculture and phytosanitary issues
through exchange of scientific delegations and experts between the two
counties.

The MoU will remain valid for a period of five years. (ANI)
