India exhibiting a positive response towards climatic change
The Asian subcontinent-India has been active in showing its concern towards climatic change. It was observed since the Copenhagen summit on climate change, a top UK government official said.
At the seminar organised by CII and Centre for Social Markets, Fergus Auld, First Secretary of Climate Change and Energy of British High Commission said, "India's approach to the whole problem has been positive and the country played a constructive role in the negotiations".
It comes in lieu with the decision to cut emission rates of carbon emission for a better environment.
Environment and Forest Minister Jairam Ramesh had earlier stated government has sought out measures which will curb carbon emissions by at least 20-25 percent by 2020 which includes mandatory fuel efficiency criterion for vehicles.
