iGate bags $80M contract from Orange Switzerland
U. S.-headquarter IT services provider iGate has bagged a $80-million five-year contract from Orange Switzerland to transform the telecommunications firm's IT infrastructure and rationalize its vendor landscape in Switzerland.
Under the terms of the deal, iGate will be responsible for managing Orange Switzerland's all enterprise systems, including ERP, business intelligence, infrastructure, data network as well as telephony services.
Derek Kemp, executive vice president and head of Europe & Australia at iGate, said they were very excited to start a partnership with a leading telecommunication services provider.
Johan Hall, chief technology officer at Orange Switzerland, said, "Beyond demonstrating their depth and IP-led capability, iGate showed that they understood our business requirements and responded with flexibility and innovation."
The contract has been signed for a period of five year, with an option to extend it by one year.
Around a week ago, iGate's former CEO Phaneesh Murthy filed a lawsuit against the firm, alleging that his termination by the company was wrongful. The Fremont, California-based company had sacked him for failing to disclose a relationship with a subordinate. The company said the lawsuit had no merits.
