Hyundai marches against counterfeitsWith counterfeits now getting more popular and have started to hit the bottom-line of the automakers, Hyundai Motors India has turned into action as the company along with the Economic Offences Wing, Crime Branch, and the Delhi Police raided two shops where the counterfeits were selling.

With one shopkeeper from India's largest motor market, Delhi's Kashmiri Gate and the second one at Vishnu Nagar.

In fact, companies like Hyundai Mobis and Kia Motor Co. that handle service parts supply to the automaker have been doing such checks on a regular basis globally. Though the criminal punishment to the two accused will be decided after they are presented in the court, but for now, both of them have been sent under the Police custody.

Counterfeits have always been a problem in the Indian market across sectors, then be it IT, FMCG, Consumer durables or Automobiles. In fact, the company also plans to continue its program to stop counterfeiting of its products and hence making its own service and spares arm stronger.
