Hyundai India posts a 24% rise
Hyundai Motor India Ltd, the country's second largest car manufacturer and the largest passenger car exporter has been able to maintain its growth momentum in the Indian market in the last month in the domestic circuit. While the total sales for July, 2010 stood at 50,411 units as against 45,539 units in July, 2009 registering a 10.7% cumulative growth over the same period last year, the company registered a 3% fall in its exports numbers.
Notably, the company's volumes in the exports segment fell down from 22,346 units in July, 2009 to 21,600 units in July, 2010, it is confident that the growth in the domestic segment will support its bottom-line.
Arvind Saxena, Director - Marketing and Sales, HMIL said that the newly launched Verna Transform has been able to create the much-desired magic in the mid segment along with the tried and tested Accent.
Moreover, Saxena also said that the company is expecting to keep up the momentum and is gearing up for the upcoming festive season in the Indian market.
It may be noted here that Hyundai India is facing a stiff competition from Tata Motors for the second slot as the company has been able to increase the Nano production in the Indian market.
