Hyundai India on a high
Amidst the reports on the automobile companies filing flat growth as far as the exports of the company are concerned, the largest exporter of passenger cars and the second-largest automaker in the domestic market, Hyundai Motors India has recently announced that it has started the fiscal as desired for the month of April.
The company has filed a growth of 28.1% in the Indian market for the month of April 2010 as compared to the corresponding period last year. Notably, the company registered total sales of 52,020 units as against 44,370 units in April, 2009 registering 17.2% cumulative growth.
While almost 6% growth was contributed by the exports segment, the company is still riding high on the back of the high domestic demand. The company sold 28,501 units in the last month which is way up as compared to the 22,247 units it achieved in the same period last fiscal.
Arvind Saxena, Director - Marketing and Sales, HMIL said that the Korean giant has received a tremendous response from the consumers as far as the new variants of i20 are concerned. In fact, Saxena also pointed out that the company is confident of a strong sales growth for the model in the times to come.
