Humpy pulls out of Asian Indoor Games

Subhas Bhowmick resigns as East Bengal coachThe world no. 2, Koneru Humpy has decided to pull herself out of the Asian Indoor Games to be played in Vietnam to protest against the harassment by the All India Chess Federation (AICF).

Humpy had alleged DV Sundar, Secretary of All India Chess federation, of harassing her mentally and she has withdrawn from Asian Indoor Games after Sundar refused to give permission to her father to work as her coach.

Humpy's father Koneru Ashok said that Humpy is totally disturbed by mental harassment and she has opted to pull out as she is not in a position to take part in the Asian Indoor Games.

Humpy has revealed that Sundar had not given her permission to be accompanied by her father during four tournaments in 2009-10 even when her father had offered to pay all fares including food and stay.

AICF responding to this allegation said that Humpy should sit with them to settle all doubts and they had refused to grant her permission as Government does not allow them to pay the financial burden of personal trainer for any player.
