Hiranandani Hospital opens to public, officiallyAfter a prolonged delay of over a year, Fortis Group's Hiranandani Hospital at Sector-10A, opposite the Mini Seashore, Vashi opened to public on Wednesday. The hospital, until date was operating only the OPD department, is reported to have received the necessary approval for running the hospital. With the approval, the hospital has already commenced with conducting few very complicated and rare surgeries.

The 150-bed hospital comprises of state-of-art medical facility installed within spacious and splendid architecture. The building boasts of myriad rooms that will cater to various health aspects. With being the first hospital to be owned by the health care provider Fortis healthcare group in the western region the group in all has over 26 hospital spread across the world.

"The hospital will have all the diagnostic facilities that would help support the advanced ICU and super specialties like cardiac, neuro and ortho departments. It's keeping this in view that the hospital has 42 beds for ICU, five beds for ICCU and a triage (emergency room)," said Director of Hiranandani Fortis Hospital Dr Rajeev Boudhankar.

He added, "The OPD situated on the first floor has 26 OPD rooms with few dedicated to dentists, gynaecologist etc. There is a physiotherapy room at the ground floor and a cath lab with the latest technology first of its kind Mumbai. We have five operation theatres and well-equipped units for dialysis, endoscopy, physiotherapy and rehabilitation centre."

With a motto of 'Save life first,' this public private partnership endeavour aims to render service with a humane approach. A 10 per cent discount has been announced for those patients referred by NMMC.

"We have a standard operating procedure, which is uniform throughout the different branches of Fortis, which enables us to function as a multi specialty tertiary hospital. This ensures that any patient who arrives at the hospital receives the best treatment at the fastest possible time irrespective of the nature of the health issue," said medical superintendent Dr Mahesh Kant.
