New York, Nov 15 : Senator Hillary Clinton has dodged rumours about taking the Secretary of State position in President elect Barack Obama’s incoming team, and said that she is not going to speculate over the incoming Obama Admiistration.

“I’m not going to speculate or address anything about the president-elect’s incoming administration, and I’m going to respect his process,” Hillary said.

“And any inquiries should be directed to his transition team,” the New York Senator added.

Clinton’s polite dodge came a day after she and Obama met for a private and previously unannounced sit-down at his transition offices in Chicago, the Daily News reported.

The first anyone knew about the top-secret tete-a-tete was when Clinton’s motorcade was seen leaving the office complex on Thursday afternoon, shortly before Obama left for the day.

Clinton spokesman Philippe Reines would say only “Senator Clinton had no public schedule yesterday.”

Clinton joked that she was glad to see so many members of the press — most of whom had come to query her on the secretary of state rumors — were suddenly interested in mass transit.

She quickly dispensed with the Obama Cabinet rumors with her “respect his process” comment, and then launched into a 20-minute speech on the need to maintain funding for public transit, even amid the current economic downturn.

Some of those former aides are reportedly pushing Clinton for the top foreign policy post, a job with no shortage of candidates. Others said to be under consideration by Obama include Democrat John Kerry of Massachusetts and Republican Chuck Hagel of Nebraska. (ANI)
