Health Ministry opposes CET for medical, engineering courses
The Health Ministry has opposed the proposal of Common Entrance Tests (CET) for medical and engineering courses in the Supreme Court.
Earlier the HRD Ministry has declared the proposal for a Common Entrance Tests (CET) for both medical and engineering courses. But not the issue has taken a new turn as Health Ministry has filed an affidavit on Friday, 13th November.
The affidavit was filed through the Director General Health Services (DGHS) on behalf of the Health Ministry and after that it has informed that due to the involvement of complexities, it was not in the favour of the proposed CET at current circumstances.
The affidavit was filed before a Bench of Justices R V Raveendran and A K Patnaik. They have informed that Director General Health Services have filed the affidavit which says they won’t be favoring the system.
An integrated entrance examination for medical and engineering streams will never be helpful for the interest of the aspirants. The final decision over this issue will be taken soon.
