Hamburg - SV Hamburg forward Ivica Olic is doubtful for the final of four meetings with Werder Bremen, in the Bundesliga on Sunday, as he bruised his knee in the teams' UEFA Cup semi-final.

Hamburg announced the nature of the injury on Friday after medical examinations. Ther was initial speculation that he may have even ruptured the cruciate ligament which would have sidelined him for several months.

"His participation in Bremen is doubtful," said Hamburg doctor Oliver Dierk.

Olic sustained the injury late in Hamburg's 3-2 home defeat against Bremen on Thursday. The Croatian scored both goals for Hamburg but Bremen made the final on away goals in a 3-3 aggregate score. Bremen also beat Hamburg in a German cup semi on April 22.

Olic leaves Hamburg after the season for Bayern Munich on a free transfer. (dpa)
