Greenpeace Activists Poured Yellow Paint around Arc De Triomphe to Turn It into 'Sun'

Greenpeace activists attempted another public stunt on Friday to make negotiators agree on a powerful accord. The green activist poured yellow paint around a famous roundabout to transform it into the Sun.

Greenpeace activists used bikes to pour the paint on the cobblestone street the paint got spread by the passing vehicles, which made it appear like sun when seen from the sky.

They wanted to paint the sun, to force the French government to accelerate the development of the use of renewable energy in the country and majorly the solar power.

Greenpeace coordinator Frederic Amiel said in a statement that around eighty Greenpeace activists gathered on the Place de l'Etoile and the Arc de Triomphe to send a message to Francois Hollande.

France presents itself as a model in climate talks, but today it develops almost three times less renewable energy than its European neighbors. This was the reason for which the activists said they decided to draw a sun on the Place de l'Etoile and put banners to accelerate the development of renewable energies.

At the summit site several dozens of activists held a red fabric to discourage negotiators from drawing any ‘red lines’ in their talks. According to the organizers, U.S. climate group 350.org, two members of the Green Warriors of Norway handed out condoms to passers-by.

This was done to warn people that the real problem behind the warming of the planet was overpopulation.

“A new force is awakening in our galaxy. But without Brazil, the United States, China, Germany and India, they won't have the strength to destroy the fossil fuel industry's death star”, detailed a full page ad in the International New York Times by online activist group Avaaz.
