GM, Hyundai, Tata and FIAT’s products set to be expensive by April 1As the BS-IV norms will come into effect from the 1st of April, the auto makers have finalised plan to make the hole in the consumers' pocket even bigger in size. Under the BS-IV norms, all of the automakers present in the country would necessarily need to upgrade the products according to emission norms and hence it would make the affair expensive for the consumer at the end of the day.

While the Oil companies still trying to an extension from the government owing to excuses like shortage of BSIV empowered fuel. BSIV will be applicable in 13 major Indian cities while the rest of cities will be upgraded from BS-II to BS-III. Auto companies like GM, FIAT, Hyundai and Tata Motors have set up plans to make their products expensive.

GM is planning a hike of Rs. 6,000 on all its products except Beat and Spark and its arch rival Hyundai motors India will be announcing a hike up to Rs 5,000 across its various products. Moreover, players like FIAT, Tata, Mercedes Benz, M&M along with others will also be announcing a hike in its prices after the BSIV norms come into play.
