Germany arrests businessman over Iran exports
Karlsruhe, Germany - Germany has arrested a businessman for exporting "technical" products to Iran in breach of a UN embargo, prosecutors said Wednesday.
The man was detained on Sunday by customs agents in Hesse, the state centred on the commercial city of Frankfurt, and has since been remanded in custody on the charges.
The federal prosecutors in Karlsruhe said the suspect had dual Iranian and Canadian citizenship.
His Hesse-based firm exported the goods between November 2007 and last month. (dpa)
