Banks To Forward Benefits Of Repo Cuts To BorrowersThe banking institutions should give relief to borrowers and forward the complete benefit of the repo rates cuts carried out by the central bank (RBI) thus far.

In a gathering with some bank heads today, Dr. D. Subbarao, Governor, Reserve Bank of India, demanded banks to guarantee that customers are not put to any problem.

Health Insurance To Cover 3500 Families In The Industrial Belt Of Eloor

Here’s good news for the people living in the industrial belt of Eloor.

State Industries Minister Elamaram Karim had said that the administration will soon launch a pilot project of medical insurance to cover 3500 families in the selected nine wards of Eloor Grama Panchayat from April 1.

Under this scheme five members of each family will be given Rs 30,000 with an annual premium of Rs. 506 per person.

The minster also made it very clear that the offered reimbursements of the National Health Insurance Programme of the Rashriya Swasthya Bima Yojana amounting to Rs 30,000 can also be availed by members of each family.

World Bank Report: HIV, AIDS Pose Serious Threat To South AsiaThe report released on Friday indicates that, even though the overall prevalence rate is small (up to 0.5%), there is rising HIV occurrence among susceptible groups at increased risk for HIV virus, comprising sex workers and their customers, and injecting drug users and their partners.

The report, titled "HIV and AIDS in South Asia: An Economic Development Risk" said that despite prevention plans, targeting susceptible groups at high infection risk, are increasing proportionally, these concentrated outbreaks can further escalate.
