The defence officials stated, "A group of armed militants entered the Indian Territory from Kabaristan post of Pakistan and were trapped by troops close to Kalash Indian Post between Zero line and border fencing along LoC in Poonch district on Sunday."

Washington, Sept 23 : Ever wondered why a song sounds sexy sometimes and annoying at other times? Well, a study on songbirds has shed new light on this question, showing that a change in hormone levels may affect the way we perceive social cues.

Emory University’s Donna Maney, who used white-throated sparrows for the study, says that the changes in hormone levels affect the perception by altering a system of brain nuclei, common to all vertebrates, called the ‘social behaviour network.’

"Social behaviours such as courtship, parenting and aggression depend primarily on two factors: a social signal to trigger the behaviour, and a hormonal milieu that facilitates or permits it," said the study leader.

Officials: Kidnapped tourists released without ransom Cairo  - Eleven tourists kidnapped in southern Egypt were released Monday, Egyptian Tourism Minister Zuheir Garana said.

The five Italians, five Germans and a Romanian had been kidnapped while on a Safari near the city of Aswan and had been taken to Sudan.

Garana said that the tourists were released without payment of any ransom.

LEAD: Fifteen wounded as vehicle slams into crowd in Jerusalem Jerusalem  - At least 15 people were wounded late Monday night when a vehicle slammed into a crowd of people in Jerusalem, first aid workers said.

Most of the wounded were soldiers, and two were said to be in serious condition.

The driver of the vehicle was shot and killed by a passer-by, and police who rushed to the scene were attempting to ascertain his identity.

According to reports from the scene, the black BMW car mounted a pavement and ploughed into a crowd of pedestrians waiting to cross the road.
