Real Madrid likens ‘senile’ Ferguson to General Franco

London, Oct 31: Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson has been branded ‘senile’ in Spain and compared to Spanish dictator General Franco.

Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon said Ferguson was ‘getting old’ after an interview in which Manchester United’s coach resurrected Real Madrid’s links with Franco.

Madrid-based paper Marca responded with a series of five pictures of Ferguson changing into Franco, with a headline ‘Ferguson Senile’.

I’m not going to waste any time answering him. I admire his history but recently he has gone a bit senile,” The Sun quoted Calderon, as saying.

Ferguson’s own comments came as he slaughtered Real’s arrogant pursuit of Ronaldo during the summer.

Men make better combat leaders, women peacekeepers

Washington, October 31: A team of University of Kent researchers has shown that the selection of male or female group leaders may depend upon specific situations that the members face.

Psychologists Mark Van Vugt and Brian R. Spisak made volunteers participate in an investment game to see whether gender influences the selection of group leaders during various group competition situations.

Each volunteer was given six dollars, any of that amount could be invested into a group fund, with the volunteer keeping the rest for themselves. The participants were told that they would receive a bonus if the group fund exceeded a certain amount.

Aussie boy, 7, banned from pub for being ‘unruly’!

The final straw came on a Sunday evening earlier this month, when Ronnie refused to get down from a wall he had climbed at the Rocks Tavern.

"I asked his father to take the boy home and told him he was welcome to come back and keep drinking with his mates but he said I wasn''t kicking him and his son out of the pub and told me to ring the police, which I did," the Telegraph quoted Kevin Mullins, the landlord, as saying.

Wikipedia founder sees ‘serious Internet recession’ but no ''bloodbath''

London, Oct 31: The global economy is headed for a "pretty serious recession" that could leave some major household name websites floundering, however, there won’t be any bloodbath, says the founder of Wikipedia, a well-known online encyclopedia.

Jimmy Wales believes that the Internet and technology companies will suffer a "serious downturn" that will hit websites that are heavily reliant on advertising.

"It won''t be a 10pc collapse which kills everybody, but [advertising revenue] is going to drop and that is going to hurt people, a lot of marginal players are going to have serious problems,” the Telegraph quoted him, as saying.
