Pak Army chief meets Saudi military leadership

General Ashfaq Parvez KayaniRiyadh, Nov. 9 : Pakistan''s Chief of the Army Staff, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, who is on an official visit to Saudia Arabia, called on Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud, deputy prime minister and minister of defence, and Prince Khalid bin Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud, assistant defence minister for military affairs.

According to the dawn, matters of mutual interest were discussed and it was agreed to enhance defence ties between the two countries.

Tight security for India, England ODI in Rajkot

Rajkot, Nov. 9 : Nearly 1500 security personnel will be deployed for the first one-day international between India and England at the Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Ground here on November 14.

The security includes two superintendants of police and 60 State Reserve Police (SRP), Rajkot Police Commissioner Sudhir Sinha said.

He said spectators would be allowed water bottles and food packets only after passing through the scanner.

Sinha said that in view of threats from terror outfits to some players of the Indian team, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has been asked to use the General Electric security system at the entry gate.

Melbourne, Nov 9: Popstar Melissa Etheridge has voiced her opinion against the banning of same-sex marriages, declaring that if California won''t allow gays to marry, she won''t pay her state taxes.

The 44-year-old singer says that no marriage - no tax dollars – because she is not being treated as a "full citizen", reports the Daily Telegraph.

Organised by Raise the Tibetan Flag Campaign (RTFC) and a self-help group, RAGPA, the concert provided a chance to exiles to stay connected with their music, which they feel is dying a slow death after the Chinese invasion of their homeland.

Washington, Nov 9 : A new study has found that androgynous leaders, that is, leaders with both masculine and feminine traits are best in facilitating and creating a good innovation climate in an organisation.

Innovation means a deliberate introduction of new products, processes or methods in a role, group or organisation that clearly improves the results.

“Modern working life makes great demands on innovation to secure companies’ competitive advantage,” Science Daily quoted sociologist and researcher Anne Grethe Solberg at the BI Norwegian School of Management, as saying.

Both men and women have a right to help make strategic decisions in a company.
