Lok Sabha MP killed in accidentLok Sabha member Chaudhary Munawwar Hasan was killed in a road accident near Palwal in Haryana on Wednesday.

He was 45.

Hasan "was brought dead to Apollo Hospital at 3 am," a hospital spokesperson said.

Hasan was elected on a Samajwadi Party ticket from Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh in 2004, had defected to BSP at the time of July 22 trust votes.

He was expelled by the Samajwadi Party which also filed a petition seeking his disqualification from the House.

Golfer John Daly hits the rough in Australia

Sydney  - Organizers of a golf tournament in Australia said Thursday that perennial bad-boy John Daly would not face disciplinary action after grabbing the camera of an over-zealous fan and smashing it against a tree.

They said the big-hitting American was within his rights because cameras and mobile phones were banned from the course at the Australian Open in Sydney.

Daly has a long history of alcohol abuse, with three recorded spells in the Betty Ford Clinic in the United States.

Daly released a statement via tournament organizers saying the fan got too close.

"The guy that had the camera had already taken a dozen shots at close range," he said.

10 new MPs take oath in Rajya Sabha10 new MPs were administered oath by Rajya Sabha Chairman Hamid Ansari today including Samajwadi Party general secretary Amar Singh and his party colleague Ram Gopal Yadav.

Of the total 10 MPs who were administered oath in the Upper House, five belong to BSP, two are from BJP and one MP is an Independent, apart from the two SP MPs.

BSP MPs included Akhilesh Das, who earlier this year had joined the party after leaving the Congress, Brijesh Pathak, Veer Singh, Rajaram, and Avtar Singh Karimpuri.

The 34-year-old star lost his wallet when he was with friends at Rolf's on Third Avenue on December 7.

The "Revolutionary Road" star was "turning the restaurant upside-down looking for his wallet," a source told the New York Post.

Experts call on US to follow dual track nuke weapons policy

Washington, Dec. 11 : A joint working group of scientists and policy experts has said that the United States must re-establish its global leadership in nuclear arms control while continuing to update its nuclear arsenal as necessary.

But it has also suggested that Washington should not add any new nuclear capabilities.

The study says upgrading of the nuclear stockpile should be limited to "those activities that would typically be done to any existing weapon system as it ages," such as replacement of worn, dysfunctional or no longer reliable components with the same or newer materials and technologies.
