It is worth noticing that when the two united for `Moulin Rouge', Kidman's marriage to Tom Cruise crumbled and before the flick's premier they divorced - and at the same time Luhrmann's father died.

During their second project `Australia' Nicole Kidman became pregnant with daughter Sunday Rose, something that she had been yearning for.

The `Vanilla Sky' actor, who plays World War II colonel leading a plot to assassinate the Nazi leader in the new flick `Valkyrie," revealed he used to pretend killing Hitler, while playing War games with kids.

Probe ordered into "lapses" of top Mumbai police officers

New Delhi - Indian authorities have announced an investigation into two top police officers for their failure to prevent the November 26 terrorist attacks in Mumbai, news reports said Thursday.

Opposition parties in the western state of Maharashtra, the capital of which is Mumbai, have demanded action against state police chief AN Roy and city police chief Hasan Gafoor.

They said Roy and Gafoor had failed to take action on intelligence warnings of last month's attacks that left more than 170 people dead.

State Chief Minister Ashok Chavan has ordered a high-level investigation into the two senior policemen. "Most likely, the task will be entrusted to a retired bureaucrat," a senior official told the Times of India newspaper.

Rwanda tribunal expected to rule on alleged architect of genocide

Nairobi - A UN tribunal trying the most high-profile figures accused of involvement in the 1994 Rwanda genocide was Thursday expected to pass judgement on a man accused of being one of the slaughter's top planners.

The International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) - based in Arusha, Tanzania - accuses Theoneste Bagosora, 67, of helping to plan and carry out the genocide and of organizing and arming the notorious Interahamwe Hutu militia.

More than 800,000 Tutsis and moderate Hutus were slaughtered by militia in the space of only a few months following the assassination of Hutu president Juvenal Habyarimana.

Mauritian President denounces terrorism

Haridwar, Dec 18 : Mauritian President Anerood Jugnauth, who is currently on a visit to India, has condemned terrorism and terror activities terming it as a barbaric act, which should be fought.

Speaking to mediapersons on Wednesday at Haridwar where he had gone to offer prayers, Jugnauth said that terrorism is a barbaric act which indiscriminately kills the innocents.

"Who will like terrorism, nobody except the terrorists? We condemn it, it is barbarous, it is horrible, taking away lives of innocent people. I think the world should unite to fight this heinous crime and get rid of terrorism once for all," he added.

Accompanied by Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Jugnauth also met yoga guru Baba Ramdev.
