Moscow/Kiev - Russia has halted all supplies of gas to Western European customers in an escalation of the energy dispute between Moscow and Ukraine, a spokesman for Ukrainian gas monopoly Naftogaz said on Thursday morning.

The Naftogaz statement, reported by the Interfax agency, came after Austrian Economy Minister Reinhold Mitterlehner told local radio on Wednesday that his country had received no supplies from Russia via Ukraine overnight.

Washington, Jan 7 : Outgoing US national security adviser Stephen Hadley has said that Iran is the biggest challenge President-elect Barack Obama will face in the Middle East and adds that the next administration's top priority should also be aimed at stabilizing an increasingly volatile Pakistan.

London, Jan 7 : A drug investigator has laid claims that Alaskan authorities delayed the arrest of a woman, who was connected to Governor Sarah Palin, until after the November election was over.

According to the Anchorage Daily News, the drug investigator revealed that the arrest of Sherry Johnston, who happens to be the mother of Levi Johnston, who is engaged to Palin's daughter, Bristol, had been put on hold due to political reasons.
