New ‘Grand Theft Auto’ game given adult-only certificateLondon, Jan 12 : A computer game has been awarded an adults-only rating after it was found to be high on drugs and gangland killing features.

The British Board of Film Classification on Jan 9 gave an 18+ certificate to Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars and deemed it unfit for the family-friendly Nintendo DS console.

Made by a Leeds-based studio owned by US firm Rockstar, the game, the latest in the controversial Grand Theft Auto series, is set to hit the stores on March 20.

28 NLFT militants surrender in Tripura

Agartala, Jan. 12 : Twenty-eight hardcore militants of the outlawed National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) officially laid down arms during a surrender ceremony at the 21 Assam Rifles range head quarters in Agartala with arms and ammunition.

The militants informed that they had fled from their camps in the forest of neighbouring Bangladesh mainly for two reasons - food crisis in Bangladesh camps and non-payment by the leaders of the militant outfits to the down rang cadres.

They also feared that with the forming of the new democratic government in Bangladesh there are every possibility of raids and anti-insurgency operation against Indian militants harboring in Bangladesh.

DRDO develops indoor antenna test range facility

DRDO LogoNew Delhi, Jan. 12 : The Defence Avionics Research Establishment, a premier laboratory of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), which is based in Bangalore, has developed an indoor Antenna Test Range facility to characterize both the Electronic Support Measure [ESM] and Electronic Counter Measure [ECM] antennas, which are first of its kind in India.

A DRDO release said M. Natarajan, Scientific Advisor to the Defence MInister, inaugurated the facility today in the presence of Dr. Prahlada, Chief Controller, DRDO and Dr. U. K Revanker, Director, DARE, Bangalore.

London, Jan 12 : A photograph of the Beatles clicked at Ringo Starr''s wedding to Barbara Bach in 1981 will be part of a touring exhibition.

The wedding took place less than six months after John Lennon was shot dead, and the picture showed just the two other remaining ex-Beatles and their wives.

The image, from the National Portrait Gallery, is currently at Museums Sheffield as part of the NPG''s touring exhibition Family Album.

"Family Album brings together highlights from the National Portrait Gallery''s collections to examine how family life has been represented by artists over the centuries," the Telegraph quoted a spokesman for Museums Sheffield as saying.
