 Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta to campaign for CongressKanpur, Mar 24 : Congress leader Sri Prakash Jaiswal on Tuesday said that Bollywood actors Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta would campaign for the party in the upcoming general elections.

Jaiswal also said that actors Govinda and Nagma would also take part in rallies and road shows of the party.

Govinda is a Congress MP and Nagma has been an active member of the party in earlier elections.

Earlier, speculations were high about Zinta joining politics on a Congress ticket.

The measure would be one of several proposed by the government in an attempt to free money needed to invest in the Dutch economy to fight the ongoing crisis.

The government coalition parties Christian Democrats, Labour and Christian Union have for more than three weeks been discussing special measures to stimulate the economy.

BJP’s Joshi files nomination from Varanasi

Murli Manohar Joshi Varanasi, Mar 24 : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Murli Manohar Joshi on Tuesday filed his nomination from the Varanasi constituency for the upcoming general elections.

Joshi handed over his papers to the District Electoral Officer and District Magistrate of Varanasi Ajay Kumar Upadhyay.

The BJP leader thanked people for their support and said he would work to regain the old glory of the city.

He is the first candidate to file nomination papers from the constituency.

The polls in Varanasi will be held in the first phase on April 16.
