Vitoria, Spain  - The 29-year rule of Basque nationalists in the troubled northern Spanish region was coming to an end Wednesday as the region's socialists and conservatives signed a historic agreement allowing socialist leader Patxi Lopez to become regional prime minister.

The deal signed at the Basque parliament in the regional capital Vitoria sought to unite Basque society and to favour political pluralism, socialist representatives said.

London, Apr 1 : A new study has found that more than half of Britons are suffering from a condition that has been identified as "computer rage".

People suffering from it become so frustrated with their computer equipment that they tend to verbally or even physically attack the machines to vent their anger.

As per the research, 54 per cent of people have verbally assaulted their computers, while 40 per cent have resorted to physical violence.

London, Apr 1 : British DJ Fatboy Slim has left rehab after a month-long stint cure himself of his alcohol addiction.

Slim, 45, checked himself into the Providence Project clinic in Bournemouth, England, on March 2, reports the Daily Star.

The DJ, whose real name is Norman Cook, looked in the best of health as he left his Sussex home in a car with his wife, British TV presenter Zoe Ball on March 30.

Berlin  - Speaking in Berlin before the G20 summit, German Chancellor Angela Merkel warned anew against any reversion to protectionism as nations struggle to avoid the economic crisis.

"It would be the worst answer to this situation," she said, adding that she was bound for London "with a mixture of optimism and concern." She said the world faced the moment of decision.

At a press conference held at Mehboob Studios in Bandra, Mumbai, Aamir on Tuesday evening announced that he has shot three advertisements free of cost to support the campaign. The ads are penned by Prasoon Joshi and directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. The print ads have been done by Avinash Gowarikar. The TV ads are currently being dubbed in various languages and shall be aired all over.

London, Apr 1 : American actress Sigourney Weaver has been named the ultimate action hero in a new poll.

Weaver, 59, beat action heroes Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone to clinch the number one spot, with her role as Ellen Ripley in the sci-fi franchise Alien, reports the Daily Express.

The survey conducted by British cable channel Sky Movies saw Schwarzenegger taking the second place, while Stallone and Chuck Norris came in third and fourth, respectively.
