London, Apr. 13: A picture of Manchester terror plot suspect and university student Janas Khan has been released in the public domain for the first time.
Khan, 25, was studying at Hope University in Liverpool and was also illegally moonlighting as a six-pound-an hour security guard, the Daily Telegraph reports.
Peshawar based Khan obtained his passport in September 2006, and is thought to have arranged his student visa and travel to Britain shortly afterwards.
Haroon Khan who employed the arrested man, said: "He is very slight, not a big guy at all. We have a gym here but he never used it. He was a very clever lad but a bit of a loner, always looking for attention or company."
Kabul - An Afghan district chief said Monday that a NATO airstrike killed six civilians and wounded more than a dozen others, but the alliance said that "multiple intelligence sources" suggested that four to eight insurgents were killed in the air raid. Zelmai Yousifzai, the district chief of Watapur district in the eastern province of Kunar claimed that six civilians, including two children, one woman and three men, were killed when their house was bombed by an aircraft under NATO command.

Islamabad - Pakistani security forces repelled overnight militant attacks on their positions in the troubled north-west, killing at least three insurgents, an official said Monday. The clashes occurred Sunday when rebels targeted checkpoints in Wana, the main town of South Waziristan tribal region bordering Afghanistan.
