New Delhi, April 13: The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has killed nearly 30 Naxals in Chhattisgarh's Dantewada district in an encounter, which took place on Friday.

CRPF, however, lost its 10 personnel including a Deputy Commandant during the incident.

Srinagar, Apr 13: National Conference on Monday suggested its President Farooq Abdullah and Srinagar Municipal Corporation Chairman Salman Sagar for the Srinagar Lok Sabha seat.

Talking to reporters here, Farooq Abdullah said that the final decision on who would contest the Srinagar seat rests on Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.

Claiming that his active role in politics helps him in keeping young and fit, Abdullah said, "My life will end fighting elections."

Farooq Abdullah had contested from two assembly constituencies in last assembly elections. He had later contested the Rajya Sabha polls from the state.

With Member of Parliament Ajay Chakraborty allegedly complaining against Bharti Airtel with regard to its revenue reporting on its national long distance license (NLD), the company has come under the scrutiny of the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC).

Chakraborty has alleged that the under-reporting, "anti competitive practice of Bharti Airtel in long distance carriage" may well have resulted in Rs 100 crore yearly losses to the government.

Throughout the year, farmers work hard for good crop yields and during the harvest festival of Baisakhi, they dance and make merry.

After the celebrations, the farmers start cutting the crop.

The four bomb explosions claimed the lives of eight people and injured 62 others.

Imphal, April 13: Two improvised explosive devices were recently found near Indira Park opposite to the Imphal west district police headquarters.

Just a day after bomb squad disposed off the devices yet another IED with a cell phones attached to it as remote control was found at Kangla Park.

A team of the State police bomb disposal squad defused and got rid of the bomb and averted a major tragedy.

KCP (MC) Lanheiba, a militant outfit, has claimed responsibility for planting the IEDs.
