Lahore, Apr. 21: Pakistan based Christian missionaries have predicted that the Taliban takeover of Swat will extend to more parts of the country, which will further worsen the conditions for Christians.

“This is bad, as it is, and will only worsen if sharia law spreads further than the Swat Valley. As these militants have gained standing, they have gained clout within the country that also promises more pressure against the church,” the Daily Times quoted Todd Nettleton of Voice of the Martyrs, as saying.

Beijing - China and Russia on Tuesday signed an oil cooperation deal involving the supply of Russia oil in return for record loan of 25 billion dollars from China.

Chinese Vice Prime Minister Wang Qishan and his Russian counterpart, Igor Sechin, signed government agreements in Beijing to finalize the deal.

The cooperation pacts included building a pipeline to China, supplying oil and providing financing from the China Development Bank, China's official Xinhua news agency reported.

Zurich  - Credit Suisse said Tuesday it would compensate more clients who invested in Lehman Brothers' financial products, which have lost all their value since the investment bank's collapse last September.

A deal was reached with the Swiss consumer group Federation Romande des Consommateurs for clients who had assets up to 500,000 Swiss francs (427,758 dollars) as of August 31 last year and had invested over 20 per cent of those assets in capital-protected Lehman products.

London, Apr 21: English model Agyness Deyn is said to have turned her ex-boyfriend Josh Hubbard green with envy after she openly snogged new love Alex Greenwald at the Coachella Festival.

Hubbard, a guitarist with the band Paddingtons, was hoping to reunite with Deyn even though they had broken up last year, and he was happy to learn that she would be at the Californian music festival.

"He had been planning to come out to the festival with his mates for months," the Mirror quoted Hubbard''s close pal as saying.

London, Apr. 21: The police remand of the 10 Pakistani students detained on the suspicion of being involved in Manchester terror plots, which expires on April 22, is likely to be extended by another 14 days.

According to the Dawn, UK authorities are only sharing partial information on the progress of the investigations with Pakistan High Commission officials.

“They provided us with only partial consular access,” the Pakistan High Commission sources said, adding that the HC now knows the names of all the arrested students and their antecedents.
