New Delhi, Jan 16 : Union Minister of Human Resource Development Arjun Singh will be the chief guest at the XIth Convocation of the University of Hyderabad to be held tomorrow.

The last convocation was held in 2007.

With student strength of more than 3,400 the University of Hyderabad has emerged as a top-ranking institute of higher education and research in India.

Union Ministry of Science and Technology has recognized this University as the Second Ranking University in the country.

Aiming to emphasize its presence in the Indian luxury car market, Hyundai India, on Thursday, unveiled the advanced versions of its luxury Sedan Sonata. The new premium Sonata sedans are priced between Rs 13.9 lakh and Rs 15.9 lakh.

According to the Hyundai Motor India Ltd, the launch of its premium sedans will help to pep up the sales. The company expects to sell 1000 unit of the new sedans in the first year.

Islamabad, Jan 16 : Pakistan has shared with the United States the list and other details of persons arrested in connection with the Mumbai terror attacks.

Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani's adviser on Interior Affairs Rehman Malik said that so far the Pakistani authorities have arrested 124 people.

"We have got a list of the arrested people," Dawn quoted a US diplomat, as saying.

The exchange was done by the security agencies directly without involving the Foreign Office, the sources said.

Meanwhile, the Foreign Office on Thursday said that a FIA led inquiry team has been constituted by the Interior Ministry to probe the matter.

Washington, January 16 : A new study has raised Penn State researchers' hopes for the development of a handheld device that will recognize and immediately report on a wide variety of environmental or medical compounds.

The researchers say that a method that incorporates a mixture of biologically tagged nanowires onto integrated circuit chips can help develop an ultra-portable device of this kind.

"Probably one of the most important things for connecting to the circuit is to place the wires accurately. We need to control spatial placement on the chip with less than a micron of accuracy," says Theresa S. Mayer, professor of electrical engineering and director of Penn State''s Nanofabrication Laboratory.

Jerusalem, Jan. 16 : The Israeli Air Force has killed Hamas Interior Minister Said Siam, even as media reports said that a cease-fire between the two sides would begin soon.

According to the Jerusalem Post, Siam is the most senior Hamas political leader killed since Operation Cast Lead began on December 27. He died along with his brother Iad, his son, and Gen. Salah Abu Shrakh, head of the Hamas General Security Service.

The four were killed by an IAF strike on Iad Siam''s home in Jabalya.

Siam was the Hamas political echelon''s liaison with the group''s military wing, Izzadin Kassam, and was responsible for the various security apparatuses in the Strip, including the Hamas police and naval forces.
