Washington, Nov 11: Research has shown that several species of lizards have rapidly evolved an elongate, limbless body form, over geologically brief periods.

Adam Skinner of the University of Adelaide, and his colleagues, undertook the research.

The subject of their research was skinks, which are a common sight in Australia and many species have limbs that are either reduced or missing entirely.

Dr. Paul Roberts, a Consultant Electrophysiologist at Southampton University Hospital in the UK, revealed that a microgenerator powered by heartbeats was found to produce almost 17 per cent of the electricity needed to run an artificial pacemaker during an experiment.

Lahore, Nov 11: This year, Nigar Kirtan, the religious procession carried out by the Sikhs on the occasion of Guru Nanak’s birthday, will be taken out on a specially designed air-conditioned bus.

Lucky Dhillow, a British Sikh, is learnt to have donated this bus for the purpose.
