Funeral for German teenager who drank tainted Turkish alcohol
Stockelsdorf, Germany - Friends and relatives attended the funeral Thursday of a 17-year-old pupil who died after drinking alcohol tainted with methanol during a school excursion to Turkey.
More than a hundred people, including teachers and fellow pupils, came to the church service in the north German town of Stockelsdorf near Luebeck.
The teenager had fallen into a coma late March, after ordering alcoholic drinks with fellow pupils at the bar of the Anatolia Beach Hotel in the Mediterranean resort town of Kemer.
One other teenager in the school group died in Turkey, and two were transported back to Germany where they were pronounced brain-dead early April. (dpa)
