Foxconn might shut down its Chinese operating units

Foxconn might shut down its Chinese operating unitsAccording to a report from Chinese news site, the recent in news-making firm, i.e. the electronics manufacturer Foxconn is closing its China-based factories-including the Shenzhen location which has been dissected for rampant employee suicides.

The recent move indicates that up to 800,000 workers would lose their jobs and several families will have to find an alternative to feed themselves and their children.

However the report remains in the yet-to-be-confirmed stage from ON.CC, Foxconn who supposedly is taking off its operations from China. The simple reason of this step means a shift in attention towards operating factories of Taiwan, Vietnam, and India.

However many of the experts believe that labor is not the only factor that is involved in running a unit, the infrastructure, availability of raw materials etc factors such as these play a vital role in factory's productivity that Vietnam fails to offer at this time.

Also a major disadvantage comes in the form of lack of an international shipping port.
