Food inflation surges up to 11.47 per cent

Food inflationFood inflation of the county has been recorded at 11.47 per cent for the week that ended on 28th of August. The food inflation has gone up for the second consecutive week in the month.

However, Prime Minister Mr. Manmohan Singh had anticipated that the price of the commodities will soon come down to the normal position. He had expected that in coming couple of months the food prices may come down to their previous level.

So far as the price of the commodities is concern, there has been a huge hike in the price of fruits and milk during the reviewed time period. For the week that ended on 21st of August, the food inflation was recorded at 10.86 per cent.

Meanwhile, the market experts have predicted that the food inflation will be stabilized by the next month. They have said that the fresh kharif crops will be arrived by the coming month and it will pull the price down. CRISIL Chief Economist D.K. Joshi has said that there will be minor ups and downs in the rate due to season effect but it will soon be normalized.
