Fisherman catches 63-stone shark by mistake!
London, Oct 25 : A Cornish fisherman landed a record 63-stone shark – by mistake.
Alan Fairless, 39, was attending his shellfish pots when he discovered the 20ft thresher shark trapped in his ropes, originally put for catching lobsters.
Alan's squad, who were incapable of pulling the giant into the boat, called a trawler for help.
The mammoth catch was dragged aboard and unloaded at Gribben Head, near Mevagissey, by a forklift truck.
The weighing scales showed the shark to be exactly 400kg - breaking the existing world record of 348kg.
"At first we had no idea what on earth it was. When it came closer we realised there was no way we could haul it up on our 26ft boat but fortunately there was a trawler nearby,” The Sun quoted Alan, as saying.
The shark was gutted and sold to a buyer in France for 340 pounds. (ANI)
