ESPN, an American cable television network, has bought Cricinfo website and its name will be changed to “ESPNcricinfo.com”.

Russell Wolff, managing director of ESPN International said that in order to serve our fans we are growing our business in the online world.

He further added that Cricinfo is already having a huge number of fans and addition of Cricinfo in ESPN will be beneficial for them.

Earlier also ESPN had bought Scrum.com and Soccernet.com which were also renamed as “ESPNScrum.com” and “ESPNSoccernet.com”.

After the merger with ESPN, Cricinfo has now become the world's leading cricket website, ranked number one in all of its major markets and will have a reach of more than seven million users every month.
