Energy Mad ties up with Walgreens in the USEnergy Mad, a New Zealand based light bulb manufacturer, has entered into an agreement with retailer, Walgreens in the US to sell its Ecobulb light bulbs in its stores during this year.

Walgreens, which is among the largest retailers in the US, will display the bulbs at its 1350 stores around the country. The Ecobulb light bulbs that are sold Ecospirals in the US, will be available to the US consumers on Walgreens shelves for this year under the agreement, in a move that will boost the Kiwi firm's business in the United sates.

Managing director Chris Mardon also said that the company has been able to secure from 28 electric utilities in the US worth a total of $1.5 million allowing the company to sell its bulbs at a subsidized rate in the country. He said that a a pack of three 15-watt bulbs, which normally costs about US$10.99, will be sold for US$3.99 in the country. The affordability and dedicated displays in stores are likely to boost sales for the company.

Energy Mad ahs said that it its confident of posting a profit during the financial year 2014. Company's chairman Rick Ramsay said that continued growth in revenues from United States, Australia and its New Zealand direct installation business and a strong balance sheet and no debt will allow the company to post a profit during this financial year.
