Dutch and German HTC One S users get Android ICS update over the air
With the users of the HTC One S handset eagerly awaiting the upgrade to the Android version 4.0 `Ice Cream Sandwich' (ICS), especially ever since the HTC One X users have already received the update, the Dutch and German users of One S are already having the big update being delivered to them over the air.
The Android ICS update for Dutch and German HTC One S users is an indication that the update is first being rolled out for the international community, with the other users of the handset also likely to receive the upgrade soon.
The update to Android ICS also brings along the HTC Sense 4.1 operating system to the HTC One S smartphones, as well as some other enhancements like a notably better camera, a new EA game hub, and the replacement of the recent apps button by a menu button.
Meanwhile, the Android ICS update is also being anxiously desired by the users of another HTC smartphone - the HTC Thunderbolt, which incidentally was the first LTE handset on the Verizon network, but its success was greatly hampered by a number of problems.
Even though the Thunderbolt was largely purchased by the enthusiastic early users who soon started complaining about several issues affecting it, the smartphone is still apparently scheduled to receive the ICS update shortly; especially since the official Android 4.0 ROM for the handset has recently been leaked by Team BAMF on their forum page.
