Dozens killed, injured in powerful suicide blast in Kabul
Kabul - A dozen people were killed or injured in a suicide attack near the Indian embassy in Kabul early Monday morning, official said.
A suicide bomber detonated his explosives-packed car in an area of capital Kabul which is also very near to the interior ministry, causing several casualties, said Zemarai Bashary, interior ministry spokesman.
"It was a suicide car bomb in front of the Indian embassy, there are casualties but at this stage not it is not clear to give precise number," he said.
Local media reported that at least 15 people were killed or injured in the attack. A local TV quoted doctors from the hospital saying around 16 injured arrived in the emergency room so far.
As a result of the powerful blast, windowpanes of nearby buildings and a number of cars were damaged in the attack.
There is no report of Indian embassy officials casualties so far. (dpa)
