The schedule for IPL's third edition had been revised after they stated that the home venue for Deccan Charges was to be shifted to Cuttack in Orissa due to the recent political turmoil. The decision was taken keeping in mind the sentiments of the fans but Deccan Chargers had threatened to pull out of the IPL after this.

The revised IPL schedule released for the third edition, states that Deccan Chargers would play against the Kings XI Punjab on March 19, and Delhi Daredevils on March 21 at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack. Meanwhile officials and fans in Cuttack are all geared up for the IPL matches. Officials at the Barbati stadium have already started preparing in advance for the match to ensure no last minute hassles.

IPL had already stated that only the ground facility is to be provided by the Barbati stadium officials and since it was a short term notice the arrangements of tickets and other things will be looked after by IPL itself. Cuttack recently hosted an ODI during the Sri Lanka tour and is ecstatic at IPL's decision to conduct matches there.
