Crompton Greaves suffers 75% fall in Q4 net

Crompton-GreavesEngineering giant Crompton Greaves on Friday reported a decline of nearly 75 per cent in consolidated net profit for the quarter ended March 31, 2013.

The Avantha Group firm reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 25.27 crore in the fourth quarter of the fiscal year 2012-13, as against net profit of Rs 100.32 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year.

In the third quarter of fiscal year 2012-13, the company had reported net loss of Rs 189 crore.

Total income in the fourth quarter of 2012-13 was reported at Rs 3,392.44 crore, as against Rs 3,077.67 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.

In the full fiscal year ended March 31, 2013, the group suffered a net loss of Rs 36.14 crore. Net profit after taxes, minority interest & share of profit/loss of the company's associates was at Rs 373.59 crore during the same year.

Total income jumped from Rs 11,300.98 crore in 2011-12 to Rs 12,169.88 crore in 2012-13.

Crompton Greaves' board of directors has recommended a final dividend of Rs 0.40 per share for the fiscal year 2012-13.
