Salman Khan, Suzuki Motors help drought-hit farmersMumbai, May 30 : Bollywood superstar Salman Khan and Suzuki Motors have joined hands to provide relief to the drought-hit farmers in Maharashtra.

Khan's NGO, Being Human Foundation, and Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd, have donated 100 good quality water tanks each with a storage capacity of 2,000 litres to drought-hit people in Beed, Osmanabad, Jalna, Aurangabad and Nanded in the past few days.

The water tanks have been procured from Nagpur and are being routed through the respective district collectors to ensure a direct impact at the grassroots levels.

Suzuki Motorcycles India Ltd (SMIL) management suspended three workers -- including the union's president Anil Kumar, general secretary Avinash Kumar and Pradeep Kumar -- on disciplinary grounds on March 19.

Many workers have alleged that the company management harasses them over one or the other issue.

The SlinShot comes at Rs. 43,945 (ex-showroom Delhi), with features like the style of a 150cc and the efficiency of a 100cc bike.

Volkswagen, Suzuki stake deal sends Maruti stock upMumbai, Dec 9 - Maruti Suzuki's scrip shot up 3.82 percent Wednesday after global auto giants Volkswagen AG and Suzuki Motor Corp announced a share swapping deal.

As per the partnership, Germany's Volkswagen will purchase 19.9 percent of Suzuki's issued shares, while the Japanese firm will invest up to half of the amount it receives from Volkswagen into shares of the German firm.

The Maruti Suzuki scrip, which opened at Rs. 1,565, shot up 3.82 percent to Rs. 1,629 around noon. It later on settled to a lower level at Rs. 1,589.
